Funded Childcare at Our Setting

We are pleased to offer funded childcare places for all eligible children aged 9 months to 4 years. Our setting delivers government-funded childcare through Kent County Council and stretches funding across 48 weeks of the year, helping families access childcare for longer throughout the year. Our Funded Session Times Funded childcare is available: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Funding can only be used within these session times; they may also be used in 3-hour blocks, e.g., 9.00 am – 12.00 pm and 12.00 pm – 3.00 pm.

Funding Available

Children Aged 9 Months to 2 Years

Eligible working families may be entitled to government-funded childcare.

Eligible 2-Year-Olds

Children who meet the Government's eligibility criteria may receive funded childcare through the Early Learning for 2-Year-Olds programme.

3 and 4-Year-Olds

All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to funded childcare, with eligible working families able to access additional funded hours.

Our 48-Week Stretched Funding Offer

Government funding is based on an annual allocation of hours, usually delivered over 38 weeks of the year. At our setting, we choose to stretch funding across 48 weeks, allowing families to access funded childcare over a longer period.

This means that funded hours are delivered as follows:

Funding Type Annual Funded Hours Approximate Weekly Hours Over 48 Weeks

15 Hour

Entitlement 570 hours Up to 11.9 hours per week

30 Hour

Entitlement 1,140 hours Up to 23.75 hours per week

Over-Allocation of Funded Hours

To provide families with consistent weekly attendance patterns throughout the year, we may allocate slightly more funded hours than the annual government entitlement allows when funding is stretched across 48 weeks.

Any over-allocated hours will be offered as optional sessions within our Holiday Club provision (see Summer Holiday Sessions below). This means that families can choose whether or not to attend these additional sessions.

Where a family chooses not to attend the Holiday Club sessions allocated through over-allocation, no charge will be made for those hours. Charges will only apply where families choose to attend additional Holiday Club sessions beyond their funded and over-allocated entitlement.

Details of any over-allocated hours available to your child will be confirmed as part of your funding agreement.

Summer Holiday Sessions

As part of our stretched funding model, there are periods during the year when funded hours may not be available.

During the summer holiday period, we offer optional payable childcare sessions for families who require continued attendance. These sessions are not covered by government funding and will be charged at our standard rates. These 2 weeks are at the end of August.

Availability of summer holiday sessions may vary, and places are allocated subject to availability.

How Funding Is Allocated

Funded hours are allocated within our core funded sessions:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Families may choose to purchase additional hours, extended sessions, or extra days, subject to availability.

Additional Charges

Government funding covers the childcare element only.

Optional additional services, outings, extended childcare sessions, over-allocated hours, and summer holiday sessions may incur separate charges. Full details can be found in our Fees Policy.

Applying for Funding

Parents are responsible for applying for their funding entitlement and providing valid eligibility codes where required.

Funding cannot be claimed until all required documentation has been completed and verified.
